Twilight Palms Quilt Pattern
I grew up in Colorado, surrounded by mountains, evergreens, and snow-capped peaks. It was beautiful in its own way, but there was one thing Colorado didn’t have-palm trees. Every time I traveled to California to visit family, I was mesmerized by the tall palms swaying against the backdrop of glowing sunsets. The warm colors of the sky, the silhouettes of the trees and that unmistakable California vibe felt magical to me.
I wished I could bottle up those palm trees and bring them home with me. Now I live in California. I have nine palm trees in my front yard, yet I still feel the nostalgia of being a kid and LOVING them. Designing the Twilight Palms quilt became my way of capturing the essence of palm trees and stitching those memories into fabric.
When I was designing this quilt, I knew I wanted it to be versatile. The pattern includes two distinct looks:
A modern version filled with color, perfect for experimenting with playful and fun color pallets.
A traditional two-toned version that highlights the strong, graphic palm shapes in a striking way.

Quilt Sizes
This pattern includes three sizes: Baby, Throw, and Twin—so you can choose the perfect project for your needs.

The Throw size 60” x 60” is ideal for cuddling up and getting cozy on the couch adding a pop of handmade beauty to your living room.
The Twin size 72” x 96” is a bed sized quilt making it a bold statement piece for any twin sized bed.

Skill Level
The Twilight Palms pattern was written for confident beginners. The design uses a number of half-square triangles, and flying geese units, which means a bit of point matching is required to get those crisp palm shapes.
The construction methods and cutting instructions are efficient and written to minimize fabric waste. This pattern uses the no waste 8-at-a-time half-square triangle and 4-at-a-time flying geese methods. The Fabric requirements and cutting instructions use the most of the fabric with little left over scraps.

Why This Quilt Means So Much
Twilight Palms isn’t just another quilt pattern— it holds a very special place in my heart. Not only does is capture the nostalgia of my childhood love for palm trees and those dreamy California sunsets, but it’s also my debut quilt pattern.
I’ve poured so much time, effort, and energy into every detail—testing the blocks, refining the instructions, getting it edited, gathering an amazing group of pattern testers, and making sure it’s as clear and enjoyable as possible for you to sew. Creating this pattern has been both a challenge and a joy, and I’m thrilled to finally share my love for design and quilting in this new way.
This quilt represents a dream come full circle: taking inspiration from something that is meaningful to me and turning it into a design others can make, enjoy, and turn into their own.
